As the school summer holidays draw to a close, Hull based charity Teeth Team is heading back to school to help offer real benefits to pupils and their teeth health. 3,756 children across 22 primary schools across Hull, the East Riding, Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire and Nottingham, will benefit from the school-based supervised tooth-brushing programme.

Teeth Team also provides clinical dental assessments, applications of fluoride varnish and the subsequent signposting for accessing primary and secondary dental care. It is a collaborative working partnership between local dental practices, schools, and parents in an effort to improve the dental health of children.

Throughout the school holidays, the Teeth Team staff have been purchasing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other dental supplies and is now raring to go!

Chris Groombridge, Chair of Teeth Team since its inception in 2010, commented: “We are looking forward to the new school term and returning to the classrooms to continue rolling our vital programme out in the 22 schools we help. “The work that Teeth Team does to support the dental health of children is providing a real benefit to their lives.”
